While the Senate works
on the financial regulatory overhaul
bill the only major bill the House will
take up during the week will be a home
energy efficiency bill commonly referred
to as "Cash for Caulkers."

The cash for caulkers bill,
not to be confused with last summers
cash for clunkers program, is set to spend
$6 billion to incentivize homeowners and
contractors to take steps to make homes
more energy efficient.

Advocates of the bill claim
that it will also create more
"green jobs" in the economy.

Unfortunately measures like this
only create government dependent jobs
that only survive as long as the federal
government is willing to dole out taxpayer
dollars in order to prop them up.

This will not add the kind of long
term private sector jobs that will fuel
our economy for years to come

Criminal's Obamacare & the debt
commission :

Unusually large Democratic
majorities in the House and Senate
were used to jam a partisan and highly
polarizing health care bill through
the Congress.

No Republican supported the measure,
in large part because it vastly expanded
federal entitlement commitments at the
very moment when it was abundantly
clear that the existing entitlements
are the problem.

With the health legislation signed into
law over the objections of a united
Republican party, the president now
wants Republicans to help him finance
the newly enlarged welfare state.

The debt commission is a
transparent maneuver to pass
the buck in an election year.

Voters are beyond fed up with the
massive spending spree taking place
in Washington.

To every hostile question Democratic
candidates will get in coming months
about the exploding national debt,
they are therefore planning the
following answer :

We're waiting for the commission
to make its recommendations in
December.

Never mind that Democrats control
the White House and Congress.

If they wanted to cut the budget,
they could certainly do so, starting
right now.

Instead, they will try to use the
appointment of a non-binding
commission to create the
appearance of a proactive
agenda.

The budget debate remains in large
part a health-care debate.

Obamacare settled nothing because
it did not solve the health care cost
problem.

It papered it over with price controls

Criminal's Obamacare High Risk Pools :

Under the new law,
an important deadline looms.

States must declare whether they will
help implement the new risk-pools for
their citizens, or if they'll just let the U.S.
Department of Health and Human
Services do it for them.

Many states have taken one look
at the financial outlook for these pools
and run the other way-
with good reason.

The risk pools are just one way
in which the architects of Obamacare
passed costs on to states to maintain
a tenuous claim that the legislation was
"deficit-neutral."

The expansion of Medicaid will cost
states billions in the long run, since
federal matching rates will decrease
in future years.

Similarly, to increase access to care
for Medicaid beneficiaries, Obamacare
raises federal reimbursement rates for
primary care physicians-
but only for two years.

After that, doctors will either receive
the same low payments they do now,
or the states will have to pick up the
cost.

Of course, advocates of Obamacare
can argue these really aren't unfunded
mandates on the states.

After all, the states can refuse to pick up
the tab when the feds leave the table.

In that case, though,
the financial shell game ends,
and the whole Obamacare
scheme falls apart
